This is my project that uses kit bashing, sculpting and 3D printing.
The idea behind this model is to portray what a child would be like in the seething mass that is Terra.
A child is hope but that hope has already been damaged due to the harsh reality of his surroundings, his crude bionic leg is a testiment to that and the skull he cradles in his arms shows loss of a different more brutal kind.
His gaze is down cast and mournful but there is a peace to him, a resignation to the life he leads under the ever watchfull gaze of the Emperor in the decaying, sprawling halls of Terra.
The inspiration for this piece has been John Blanche and his ever inspirational art and figure painting, Ian Miller whos art is always at hand, and my fellow hobbyists who have embraced the Pilgryme path and continue to push the boundries of this hobby that we so dearly love. Your creativity knows no bounds and I thank you for being awesome.

Incredible! What a piece of art. I love that you’ve used three mediums for this. The best word I can find for this amazing model is “Haunting”. 5 Stars!

Glad to hear it. I like that it’s a mini diorama too. It really tells a sad little story. I’m looking at other blogs but keep coming back to yours hehe. I’ve saved the pix I hope that’s cool? When will it be painted?

Yes that’s cool. I will prime it today but I’ve got a few other models to paint first, they seem to be stacking up.

Oh man, this is looking really, really good… love those Blanchesque skeli-trees, and the pose of the child is sublime… can’t wait to see this painted!

the little reliquary box-house is a really cool detail.
Are you gonna fill it with something? I think a Skull or some bones or a pile of theeth could fit nicely:)

Yes I’ve been thinking about that. I thought I might put a small candle in it but a bone is a good idea. I shall see what I can find 🙂

Wow, impressive work! I think this is the first time I’ve seen a child in 40k (apart from lobotomised, drugged up flying babies)
