A little walk down memory lane for me this week, with a model I painted years ago and a series of minatures that had me so excited I nearly exploded with joy.
The Femme Militant range from the legend John Blanche was, lets face it, awesome! I bought a few and have sold a few and have some unpainted still, which like all things in this hobby I will eventually get around to, but the one pictured below was my first one, Praytorian.
I wonder if Mr Blanche will ever release them again, probably not but we can dream ๐
Fantastic!!
I love all of the Femme Militant models, if they re-released them I think I’d buy the whole set. You’ve done a great justice to the sculpt, like always your paintjob is amazing. Seriously, how do you paint yellow like that?
Thanks mate. I like painting yellow and it took me a while to get it right. I use inks and washes ( thinned sepia ) glazes and adding small amounts of white to yellow ink for high lights.
The femmes truly were a bright red scream in a rather dull period for gw proper. One can always dream of their return.
It was also a pity that not all of them made it to model form.
Shocking yellow that – gorgeous – I’m after a Mary bones bi the way ……all contacts via Facebook ….
Cheers! I love painting yellow. It’s a good challenge. I wish I had one to give but alas I do not. Hope one shows up ๐
