An honour

Hello all,

Today I’d like to tell you about a pretty cool thing that happened about a month ago now and since then I’ve been working on it when I was able, but now it’s finished ( Hurrah ) it is time to share.

Its not every day you get to have a chat with one of your heros but this is what happened to me when John Blanche contacted me to say he really liked my work and was interested in a few pieces I had made. Conversation about all sorts was had and it ended with him giving me permission to make a model for him based on one of my favorite character images of his.

Now as you can imagine that truely made my day, month and year. It’s an honour to be able to turn one of his visions into a model and get to name it to. So may I present The Penitent of Sorrow. She who walks the ashes to redemption.

The model is 40mm scale and I hope you all approve as it was a joy to create. Now it’s onto printing it.

    1. Thanks. It came about after I did a post about The Chapel on the FB Inquisitorium page. He checked me out from there and contacted me a few weeks later and I sent him a few bits and scenery I’d been working on and I asked him if I could design one of his characters and he said sure I can’t wait to see it. Now it’s done and he wants two πŸ™‚

    1. Thanks. It’s such a great hobby we have with so many talented people in it and Johns work has been the driving influence since I was a young lad so getting permission to create one of his characters is a dream come true.

    1. Thanks dude! I’m sure you would keep it in but maybe only just πŸ˜‰ At this point I’d have to say no, as it’s not my design and I only intended it as a personal piece, kind of like a thank you to Mr Blanche for all the inspiration he has given over the years.

  2. That is excellent mate – an honour well deserved I’d say. You’ve really captured the mood of the piece – not easy when the original is so strongly defined by the elements you couldn’t include (the background, the fog, etc). Like you this is one of my favourite Blanche pieces – it’ll be very interesting to see it as a finished model.
