Worship of the Worm. The Herald.

worship of the worm titlepage

The bell tolls for Ghryan. The worship of the worm has begun again and with it comes the decay of all that was beautiful. The lands will be consumed from beneath, the rot will start from under the skin and the excrement of Chaos will reign supreme.

It starts now. The bell tolls. It’s sound heralding the beginning of the end and the cruel laughter that follows.

Welcome to the first post of my AoS28 project, The Worship of the Worm. Now I haven’t been that into AoS in the past but with the recent release of Soul Wars that all changed. It has become a much grittier and grim setting and with the wonderful night haunt models I was set on a path to create a few projects around it. Making a war-band for AoS28 was inevitable and as I already have a night haunt project I chose to create my story around the followers of Nurgle. It’s early days yet and I have a load of other projects on the go ( don’t we all ) but I have finished the little pussΒ filled, bell swinging loon known as the Herald you see above.

A few more Nurgle Raptor pics

Here we have a few more pics of my Nurgle Raptors.

They are just a combination of Plague bearers, Raptors, old space marine shoulder pads and 3D printed bits for the bases, oh and a load of green stuff πŸ™‚

They will be painted in the same fashion as the rest of the army. Rusty metal, flesh and bone with hints of green and blood.

Nurgle Raptors

These unpleasent fellows are the Raptors of my Nurgle army.

I have tried to model them to look as if the jump packs have morphed with their bodies with diseased flesh and muscle, that coupled with their daemonic form makes for some fast looking Plague Bearers.

I have two more to go and then it’s onto the Herald and finally finishing my Plague Worm.

Watch this space πŸ™‚

Plague Marine in colour

Hello everyone,

So I’ve been absent for a while and that’s due to being the proud father of yet another bundle of joy. My little future Golden Demon winner has been taking up, as you would expect, a lot of my time but now things are getting more managable and so it was back to the man cave for some much needed creativity.

Getting some paint flowing on my Plague Marines is what I’ve started and I’ve managed to get one finished. Overall I’m fairly happy with him, but I know I can do better. The rest of the sqaud has been started to and in the process of finishing them I’ll refine him to match.

By the way I’m loving what I’m seeing on the Blogs I follow. You guys are an endless source of inspiration and I thank you for it πŸ™‚ Keep up the excellent work.

Sample Plague Marine

Finally got to play in my man cave!!

So for you today I have a sample Plague Marine. This is how I want my soul rotten marines to look like but in true scale. I managed to convert him in one evening and paint him in the next so if I can stick to this (and if time allows) I should have a squad of five done in two weeks. Unfortunately now that I write that I think it is wishful thinking, but hey you have to have targets right?

All thoughts and comments welcome. All hail Nurgle!!

The current works in progress

Here’s the current line up of what’s on my bench and it’s all about painting.

So we have The Blight Mother, an Anatomica Praebitores and a 54mm Inquisitor conversion, which has been going on for a while as I’ve not come up with a good right hand yet and it’s rather frustrating. So I’d like to ask all you talented people for some thoughts on what I should do. Parts suggestions and any ideas you would like to share would be most welcome πŸ™‚

Cheers!
