Here’s the current line up of what’s on my bench and it’s all about painting.
So we have The Blight Mother, an Anatomica Praebitores and a 54mm Inquisitor conversion, which has been going on for a while as I’ve not come up with a good right hand yet and it’s rather frustrating. So I’d like to ask all you talented people for some thoughts on what I should do. Parts suggestions and any ideas you would like to share would be most welcome 🙂
Well I finnally got some time for hobby action and decided to paint my Pilgryme The Pentitent Heart.
On the whole I’m pretty proud of him, the only thing is the free hand and my need to get more practice in. Painting images on miniatures is a whole different ball game compared to doing it on paper, but with more ideas in the making and more armour to paint I will have plenty of practice 🙂
As for his fellow Pilgrymes they are on hold at the moment, as I find myself caught in an unavoidable descent into Chaos!
So I’ve been catching up with my painting rather well recently and I’m getting through the back log.
The next one to get the paint treatment is my Child of Terra. Pretty pleased with the result and I managed to get it looking the way I wanted it from the beginning ( sometimes things go a different way )
Comments and views are always welcome 🙂
This is my project that uses kit bashing, sculpting and 3D printing.
The idea behind this model is to portray what a child would be like in the seething mass that is Terra.
A child is hope but that hope has already been damaged due to the harsh reality of his surroundings, his crude bionic leg is a testiment to that and the skull he cradles in his arms shows loss of a different more brutal kind.
His gaze is down cast and mournful but there is a peace to him, a resignation to the life he leads under the ever watchfull gaze of the Emperor in the decaying, sprawling halls of Terra.
The inspiration for this piece has been John Blanche and his ever inspirational art and figure painting, Ian Miller whos art is always at hand, and my fellow hobbyists who have embraced the Pilgryme path and continue to push the boundries of this hobby that we so dearly love. Your creativity knows no bounds and I thank you for being awesome.
Next pictures to come will be painted ones!
Some more pics of the Master.
Now all I need to do is psych myself up to paint him.
Started the painting with the good Dr here. Setting the tone for the rest of the group. Blood splatters galore!!
“It’s time to wake up my fleshy friend, that’s it, open those lovely useful eyes. Now, how many arms am I holding up?……….. Hehehehehehe!! Just a little joke to lighten the mood. So lets begin shall we, which part should I take first?”
Anatomica Praebitores, The Flesh Wraiths of Terra, The Skin Takers and many other names persides are without a doubt one of the most feared organisations to infest the deep dark areas of Terra.
They strike at the unwary pilgryme with needles and poisoned blade so that they may take them back to their surgical lairs, where the poor unfortunates are disected and amputated so there parts can be sold to whoever can pay the price. Not only do they offer this service but they also harvest and graft new parts and organs to themselves, resulting in truely horrific forms that pleases them greatly. The higher ranking Praebitorem are true monsters of the underworld that rule the shadows.
Monsters they may be, but the Anatomica Preabitores delight in knowledge and are all to eager to pass it on the the apprentices they take on, or in some cases even make, and it’s this attitude to learning that binds them. Each member of the group has a part to play and gets everything they need to succed in it. Flesh is buisness as they say and on Terra there is no shortage of that.
I really enjoyed creating these models and even as I write this they are being painted. The Master Praebitorem is one of my favorite characters to date and I plan to expand the group by adding a cart of bodies being pulled by a servitor and a lumbering abomination loading it up.
More pics to follow soon.
” An Astartes penitence is something more than a thought or an emotion or a tear;
it is action “
The Pilgryme by the talented guys at Iron Sleet has been so inspirational and the level of art, converting and painting that has been going on has driven me to come up with my own Pilgryme.
So here he is. The Penitent Heart.
The Penitent Heart is a former Lamenters Chaplain, who has been sent forth to make his pilgrymage to holy Terra to atone for his chapters miss guided betrayal during the Badab war and seemingly bad fortune that has befallen them since.
It is his chapters belief that if he survives the journey to Terra and gains access to the palace of the Emperor of mankind then the fortunes of his chapter will change. For to take and survive such a dangerous journey surely shows that they are blessed and loved by their Emperor and will take their place in the annuals of hero’s of the Imperium.
